A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Elmwood Cemetery, 1601 Highmarket Street, Georgetown, S.C. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at the home of his son. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family. Mr. Wilson was born on June 27, 1949 in Georgetown, he was a son of Ben Martin "Benny" and Virginia Barrineau Wilson. Ben graduated from Batesburg-Leesville High School where he was President of the student body and from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Finance. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield and retired as an Auditor from Colonial Life & Accident. Ben was an avid Gamecock fan, enjoyed eating Shealy's BBQ and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a loving father and grandfather and is survived by his son, of whom he was very proud, Ben Martin "Marty" Wilson (Chappell) of Columbia; grandchildren, Sara Grace and Benjamin Wilson, both of Columbia and a niece, Linda Rigole of Newberry. He was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Wilson Lester of Columbia. NOTE: Ben was also predeceased by his parents, Ben Martin Wilson, Sr and Luddie Virginia Barrineau.
