Description	:	Ben or Bernt as was his birth name was born in Newburg Township, Fillmore Co. MN to Andrew and Ingeborg/Isabell Gilbertson. In 1880 they moved to SD, where his father died around 1890. He married Helena Quanrud in 1900 and they had 3 children. Myrtle, Agnes and Marvin. His father emigrated from the parish of Gran in Oppland County, Norway in 1870. He then married Ingeborg Eriksdatter Lund. They had three childen Ben, Adolph and Olaf. His half sister Matilda or Tilla lived in Slayton, MN and she married Peder Swan and have a large number of descendants in that area. Anders Gilbertson had 4 siblings, Anna who married Bendik Thoreson and lived in Houston county, MN they have many descendants in that area. He had a brother Johan or John who lived near Madison, SD and a sister Carrie who married Iver Larson in Norway. They have many descendants in the Madison, SD area. Anders had a sister named Margret who married an Anders Thorsen, he died before 1880, then Margaret 1854-1935 married and Erickson. She is buried in the Split Rock Lutheran Cemetery, Brandon, SD, along with her mother Carinne Anderson who died in 1903. These siblings all died before 1900. Some are buried in the Olson cemetery near Junius, SD and Anna is buried in the Riceford cemetery in rural Spring Grove. Anna and her husband died in 1881 leaving 4 young children to be raised by others. The family line goes back in the Gran parish to about 1740 or so. For more info write to bs2000 at juno dot com
