Funeral service was at the New Market Church of Christ this Thursday afternoon and burial was in the family lot in Old Memory Cemetery. CLARINDA HERALD JOURNAL, Clarinda, Iowa, Nov 14, 1957 Obituary Ben Savage was born Sept 16, 1880 near New Market, Iowa. He pioneered with his parents and family in Western Nebraska. Most of his life was lived in and around New Market as a real estate broker and farmer. Ben spent seventeen years in Idaho and Washington but returned to New Market in 1951. He married Cora Alice Maxwell on January 8, 1902. Seven children were born to them. One son, Lee, and one daughter, Dorothy, preceded him in death. Mr Savage died on November 11, 1957 of a cerebral hemmorhage. At the time of his death he was 77 years, 1 months and 26 days of age. He is survived by his wife, Cora of New Market; a daughter, Delphia Genereau of Santa Ana, Calif; four sons, Ross and Fred of Seattle, Wash, Amos of Hayward, Calif and Dennis of Santa Ana, Calif; thirteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and three brothers, Paul of New Market, Dow of Clamosa, Colo., and Merl of Modesto, Calif; two sisters, Mrs Maud Cunningham and Mrs Ethel Adams of New Market. Funeral services were held at the New Market Church of Christ with the minister, Clarence M. Potter in charge. Burial was at Old Memory cemetery, New Market.
