Description	:	Benedict Read an old resident of Story county, died Wednesday night at his home in Ames. He was the son of Samuel and Reuama Read. He married Maria McCarthy on 30 Dec. 1863 in Leeds And Grenville, Ontario. She was the daughter of Florence and Elizabeth McCarthy. They came to Ames in 1865 from Toledo, Ontario. He is survived by his wife, Maria (McCarthy) Read, their son Russell Read of Ames, and their daughter, Mrs. Joseph B.
