Description	:	Benedict (Ben) Robert Naab was called up to join his family and friends who left this earth before him on December 19, 2014: his beloved wife, Marguerite P. Naab, 11 sisters and brothers, Joseph Naab, Andrew Naab, John Naab, Edmund Naab, Leo Naab, Angus Naab, Bridgett, Clemence Naab, Benedict Naab, Mary and his parents Joseph J. Naab and Katherine Jede Naab. His sister, Elizabeth, is still on this earth, is living in California and is 109 years old. Naab, 11 sisters and brothers, Joseph Naab, Andrew Naab, John Naab, Edmund Naab, Leo Naab, Angus Naab, Bridgett, Clemence Naab, Benedict Naab, Mary and his parents Joseph J. Naab and Katherine Jede Naab. His sister, Elizabeth, is still on this earth, is living in California and is 109 years old. He was born as a New Year's baby on January 1, 1916 in Kinsley, Kansas where his family worked their farm. When he was quite young, his family had a difficult time keeping the farm running so he sought outside work to help. Ben went to Alaska and worked on a fishing boat. He worked in Alaska for several fishing seasons. We all still chuckle at this work choice because he did not know how to swim. He returned to Kansas and World War II and the Great Depression were in progress. He took any job he that he could to help his family. He ended up working in hospitals helping with all aspects of care for those that became sick. He made friends with a soldier who was released from his duties because of injuries in the war. He was a pilot. When he got well, he taught Ben how to fly a plane. He flew dignitaries over Grand Coulee Dam while it was being built. He told stories about the clients that he flew over and to the Dam and some of the shenanigans that he did while he flew. The hospital in Grand Coulee expanded to serve the population that was working on Coulee Dam. They hired Ben to the administration position at the hospital. He worked in the medical field as hospital administrator in Pomona, California, Ritzville, Washington, Moses Lake Washington and other Eastern Washington towns. He met the love of his life while working at the Grand Coulee Hospital. Marguerite Bogovich, who worked as a nurse at the hospital in Grand Coulee. They were married on September 20, 1950. Marguerite passed away October 7, 2010. Ben and Marguerite had seven children: Kathryn Bradley (Lorn), Susan Clark (Perry), Christine Carey, John Naab (Debbie), Robert Naab (Jana), Mary Wilson (Charles), Peter Naab. Grandchildren are Samantha, Shawn, Christa, Traci, Jeffrey, Alyssa, Amanda, Kelly, Christopher, Benjamin, Jessica, Keith, Emily and Eliza. He had 10 great-grandchildren. Ben had many interests. He enjoyed wood working, he loved to garden and grew enough vegetables for the entire block. He enjoyed barbecuing, cooking, baking, hunting, fishing, camping and his animals. At the Retirement Center where he lived, he was known as quite the flirt, a damn good pinochle player and someone who always won playing bingo. Ben was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where he was involved in the Knights of Columbus. Ben did not want a service. He will be laid to rest with Marguerite in the Mausoleum at Our Lady of Fatima Church.
