Read More	From The Howard County Herald, October 23, 1968, page 3, transcribed by Linda Berney: Benhard August Heinemann was born on Feb. 13, 1881 to Benhard and Zezina Heinemann at Otto-Bury, Germany and died on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 12 in Grand Island at the age of 87. At the age of 9 years, with his parents and other members of his family, including his twin brother Theodor, he came to America settling at Hooper. There he grew to manhood. In the spring of 1910 he bought a farm near Cushing. He married Miss Anna Berst at St. Paul on Sept. 7, 1910. They farmed near Cushing until 1940 when they moved to st. Paul. Mrs. Heinemann died Apr. 16, '48. On Aug. 14, 1948, he married Mrs. Elisabeth Cochran Wilson. They lived in St. Paul until 1966 when they moved to Grand Island. Mrs. Heinemann died Aug. 25, 1968. At the age of 14 years, he was confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the first confirmation class at the Hooper Lutheran Church. After coming to St. Paul, he transferred membership to the United Methodist. His parents and five brothers, Fred, George, Herman, John and Theodor preceded him in death. Although Ben was not blessed with children of his own, he was a loving step-father and devoted grandfather. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Louise Poppe, Bloomfield, Mrs. Bertha Heinemann, Fremont; three step-daughters, Mrs. Al Briggs and Mrs. Kenneth Berggren, St. Paul; Mrs. William Bister, Marquette; 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchildren. Attending from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Bister & family, Marquette; Mr. and Mrs. Alex [sic, Axle?] Heinemann, Dumont, Ia.
