Description	:	KILLED BY BINDER Saturday afternoon just as Benjamin Campbell, living three miles north of Waverly, was getting ready to quit work with his binder he met with an accident which resulted in his death. Mr. Campbell had climbed off his machine and was standing in front of the sickle adjusting the canvas covering when a loud clap of thunder together with a bolt of lightning struck the neighborhood. (The article goes on to graphically describe his injuries.)... Upon his arrival at the hospital it was soon discovered that he was injured beyond hope of recovery. Such things as could be done to relieve his suffering were done, but he grew gradually weaker until death claimed him at about 10 o'clock Sunday morning. Benjamin Campbell was born fifty-four years ago near Loch Lomond, Scotland, and had lived in this neighborhood for the past thirty years. Sixteen years ago he was united in marriage to Lucretia Ingersoll, who survives him. Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday afternoon and burial was at Andrews' cemetery. Some idea of the esteem in which Mr. Campbell was held in this community may be had from the large attendance at the funeral.
