Description	:	"The Hagerstown (IN) Exponent, Wednesday, March 14, 1888 Benjamin Bowman died at his late residence on Buck Creek, Henry County, Indiana, March 11th, 1888, at the age of 80 years and 11 days. He was born in Montgomery Co., Ohio. He came with his parents to Wayne Co., Ind., when in his boyhood days and settled near Cambridge City. He was married to Miss Mary Bell, on March 3d, 1831. He was born in Montgomery Co., Ohio. He came with his parents to Wayne Co., Ind., when in his boyhood days and settled near Cambridge City. He was married to Miss Mary Bell, on March 3d, 1831. Their union was blessed with 11 children--4 sons and 7 daughters, of whom 3 sons and 4 daughters are living. His first wife died Jan. 19th 1860. He married for his second wife, Rachel Barnhart, who survives him. He was a devout member of the German Baptist Church for over fifty years, and the parishes at Buck Creek and at Hagerstown sustain a great loss by his death, but his faithfulness to the interest of the church, his high christian character, his warm, generous nature still linger as a rich treasure in the memory of his brethren. The funeral services took place at the German Baptist Church near Hagerstown, on Tuesday the 13th. The services were conducted by Revs. Kinsey, Deeter and others of his church in a very impressive manner. He was buried in the cemetery adjoining the church. Near 44 relatives friend and neighbors attended his funeral. 'Servant of God, well done; Rest from thy loved employ. The battle fought, the victory won, Enter into thy master's joy.'"
