Burchett, Burr Burchett, Jr., Lewis Burchett, David S. Burchett, Josiah Burchett, John W. Burchett, Nancy A. Burchett, Jefferson Burchett. The first four children were born in Ohio. All of the rest were born in Iowa, except for Jefferson (the youngest) who was born in Montana Territory. B.B. Burchett, his wife Nancy and all of the children remaining at home went to Montana Territory, arriving between 1862-1863 in the Bannack area (became Beaverhead County).... Burchett, his wife Nancy and all of the children remaining at home went to Montana Territory, arriving between 1862-1863 in the Bannack area (became Beaverhead County). The "gold rush" was on in Montana Territory. Their daughter Sarah Burchett married Edwin (Edward, Ed) House while they were living there. Edwin and Sarah had one son - Freeman Albert House prob. in Butte, Montana. Benjamin Burr Burchett served as a Judge and a jury member for some of the Montana Vigilante trials during the 1860's in Montana Territory. They migrated back to Iowa to finish raising their family. Most of B.B. and Nancy's children remained in Iowa married, raised their children and farmed for the rest of their lives. According to the 1880 Census Burr B. and Nancy were also caring for their grandson, Freeman A. Murray. It is believed Freeman A. House was adopted by a "James Murray" while in Montana Territory. Either his mother re-married after Edwin House died (1871) to James Murray or she (Sarah, Sallie Burchett House) also died. It is not known what exactly happened to Sarah after the 1870 Census in Montana where she is shown living with her son Freeman House. I am researching the House family and would love to know what happened. If any Burchett family member has a Bible from that time period would really like to know what is said about Sarah "Sallie" Burchett, Edwin "Edward or Ed" House and James Murray.
