Description	:	Thursday December 6, 1934 The Marion Sentinel Ben Sears Passed Away Suddenly at Home Here Monday ---------------- Benjamin Crowell Sears, a resident of Marion for nearly thirty years, passed away at his home, 500 Sixth avenue, Monday morning after a brief illness. While preparing to go to church on Sunday, Mr. Sears suffered a heart attack from which he failed to recover. He was the son of Richard and Betsy Sears, a native of West Yarmouth, Mass. While preparing to go to church on Sunday, Mr. Sears suffered a heart attack from which he failed to recover. He was the son of Richard and Betsy Sears, a native of West Yarmouth, Mass. He was 62 years of age. While still a young man, he came west, first to St. Louis. He later lived in Council Bluffs and in 1906 moved to Marion. Mr. Sears was an employee of the Milwaukee railroad. He was married in 1908 to Clara Reinheimer. One son, Richard, with the widow, survives. He was an active member of the Presbyterian church, having served as deacon and elder, a member of Osceola lodge, I.O.O.F., Grove City Rebekah lodge and F.T. Fox lodge No. 319, Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. A brother, Cyrus Sears, of Vineyard Haven, Mass., was here for the funeral services held Wednesday at two o'clock at the Yocom chapel. The Rev. Dr. Fisher, pastor of the Presbyterian church, officiated. Interment was made in Oak Shade cemetery.
