Description	:	Obituary: IN MEMORIAM Benjamin F. Nance was born November 29th, 1841, died July 3rd, 1922, at the ripe age of eighty years, seven months, and four days. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Carpenter April 20th, 1869. To them were born nine children---L. F. and W. R. Nance and Mrs. Stella Minks of Collins, Missouri, Mrs. Lottie Odell and Miss Rena Nance of Fort Scott, Kansas, Mrs. Malla Eades of Jennings, Oklahoma, three children having gone on before, Mrs. Amanda Farrar, G. S. and L. E. Nance. All the surviving members of the family were present during his illness... Read More	Obituary: IN MEMORIAM Benjamin F. Nance was born November 29th, 1841, died July 3rd, 1922, at the ripe age of eighty years, seven months, and four days. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Carpenter April 20th, 1869. To them were born nine children---L. F. and W. R. Nance and Mrs. Stella Minks of Collins, Missouri, Mrs. Lottie Odell and Miss Rena Nance of Fort Scott, Kansas, Mrs. Malla Eades of Jennings, Oklahoma, three children having gone on before, Mrs. Amanda Farrar, G. S. and L. E. Nance. All the surviving members of the family were present during his illness except Mrs. Eades. Besides his own family he leaves an older brother James Nance of Collins, Missouri, and a sister, Mrs. Amanda Dooley of Kansas City. On July 20th, 1863, he enlisted as a private in Company M Fifth Provisional Regiment and was released from duty November 27th, 1863. In the fall of 1895 he professed faith in Christ under the ministerial labors of Elder W. F. Shackelford and lived a christian life during these years. His hope and confidence in God bore him up during his affliction. He often expressed a longing desire to depart and be with Christ which he realized is far better. He often asked the Father to take him home and requested others to meet him over there. The death of B. F. Nance marks the passing away of a good citizen who by his long life and right living helped to make this community what it is. The funeral services which were very instructive and helpful were conducted at the family residence, after which the body was laid to rest in the beautiful little family cemetery on the farm where he was born and spent his entire life. God bless the memory of Bro. Nance and may his sorrowing family and friends find comfort in Him who doeth all things well. THE ST.
