Description	:	Boone County Democrat July 19, 1907 The funeral of the late Benjamin Franklin will be held Friday afternoon at 2:000 o'clock from the Marion Street M.E. church, the services to be conducted by the Rev. G.F. Cannom, pastor of the church. Burial will be in Linwood cemetery. Benjamin Franklin was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia September 22, 1827 and passed away at his home 1316 West Third street Tuesday afternoon at 5:15 o'clock after an illness from a complication of diseases coupled with the infirmities of old age. He removed to Ohio in his younger days and remained there until after his marriage on the 10th of May 1849, to Amanda P. Hunter. The family removed to Boone in 1864 and Mr. Franklin engaged in the furniture business. He left this business in 1884 and lived in semi-retirement on his home place, caring for his bees. Seven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Franklin, four of whom have died as follows: Clara, Edward, Luretia and Granvill. The children who survive together with the widow are: Thomas R., Mrs. J.W. Casey of Omaha and Mrs. S.T. Stanfield. Twenty one grandchildren and thirteen great grand children also remain. The children are all here for the funeral, also Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stanfield of Omaha grandchildren, and their baby and Mr. Casey from Atlantic. Mr. Franklin was one of the well-known and well to do pioneers of the county. He was known to many over the county and in his death an interesting figure is removed from the life of the city. To the bereaved children and the remaining relatives the News Republican extends its fullest measure of sympathy.
