On a part of it Mr. Reed built and remained until his death. He was an active man about town. Several times he served as chairman on board of selectmen, 1840, 1841, 1843, 1844, and 1846. He was succeeded by his son, Samuel, and in turn by Charles who sold and left town. Samuel Reed was born July 8, 1806, Farmington, NH, and died November 7, 1882, Lancaster, NH.
