Description	:	Ben H. Segar died at age 65 of a heart attack while out trapping seven miles northwest of Stanhope, Iowa. He had been suffering from a heart condition for his last three years of life. Benjamin Hunter Segar, son of Charles and Mary Nancy (Hunter) Segar, was born June 20, 1892, on a farm in Cass township. He recieved his elementary education in the Cass township schools and later attended a business college in Webster City. Benjamin Hunter Segar, son of Charles and Mary Nancy (Hunter) Segar, was born June 20, 1892, on a farm in Cass township. He recieved his elementary education in the Cass township schools and later attended a business college in Webster City. Mr. Segar served with the U.S. armed forces in World War I and was a member of the American Legion. Ben was united in marriage Feb. 1, 1921 to Edna Kiesecker, and together they had two sons, Donald Segar of Los Angeles, CA and Richard Segar of Webster City, IA. The family farmed for a number of years in Cass township. He later united in marraige to Laura Jane Claude, April 7, 1945 and they resided in Webster City where he engaged in the painting trade. The couple later moved to Stanhope, IA until his death. Ben Segar was a member of the Oak Glen Brethren Church. He had four sisters, Cora, Flora, Ella, and Katherine and one brother, Cliff.
