Mr. Lynn died at the Iowa Methodist Hospital Tuesday, May 25. Rev. Jack Cooper of Ankeny and Jake Garbison of Indianola conducted the 1:30 p.m. services. Benjamin Harrison Lynn was born at Jay, Iowa, April 5, 1894 to John and Dora Seifert Lynn. He attended the rural schools at Woodburn and also completed two years at Simpson Academy. On October 1, 1919 at Indianola, Iowa he was married to Lottie McLain. Two children were born to this union. He was the first veteran of World War I and member of the American Legion Post at Woodburn. He was affiliated with the Christian Union at Bethel Chapel. Surviving relatives include wife, Lottie of Woodburn; two daughters, Jewell Clark and husband, Merle of Morristown, New Jersey; Mrs. Joy Schreiber and husband, Daryl of Indianola; two granddaughters, Barbara Axel of Attleboro, Massachusetts; Linda Anfinson of Indianola and three great grandchildren: Windy and Scott Axel, Jenifer Anfinson and one sister, Ethel Swanson of Davenport. Money used for stamps for mailing thank you notes, will be turned over to the memorial fund and used to help pay for the siding on the church.
