OBITUARY 1: Pilot, June 12, 1928 Benjamin Utterback, for sixteen years a resident of Arlington, passed from this life at his home June 5th, aged 79 years, 4 months and 27 days. He was born at Sumner, Ill., June 8, 1849, and was united in marriage to Sophinia V. Jenkins, December 23rd, 1874 at Shelbyville, Ill. To this union were born ten children of whom eight are living; Lawrence, Lewis, Robert and Elmer,of Arlington; Millard and Lloyd, of Lincoln; Mrs. Lila Woods of Harstel, Colo.; Mrs. Doris Hindley,of Blair. There also survives him his aged wife, seventeen grandchildren and three brothers, one of whom lives in Colorado and two in Kansas. Mr. Utterback was in failing health for several years, and stayed closely at home. He was a man of a kindly, gentle nature, much loved by all who knew him. When 17 years of age he became a member of the Methodist church. Funeral services were conducted at the home Thursday afternoon by Rev. J.E. Aeschbacher, assisted by Rev. J.W. Henderson, with burial in the Arlington cemetery. His six sons served as pallbearers. The community extends sympathy to the bereaved family. OBITUARY 2: Enterprise June 14, 1928 Arlington Man Dies Funeral services for Mr. B.M. Utterback, who passed away on the morning of June 5th, were held on Thursday afternoon from the home by Rev. J.E. Aeschbacher, assisted by Rev. J.W. Henderson. The deceased was born at Sumner, Ill. on January 8, 1849 and on December 23, 1874 was united in marriage to Sophania V. Jenkins at Shelbyville, Ill. Two years after their marriage they moved to Nebraska and with the exception of a short interval they have made this state their home. For the past sixteen years they have lived in Arlington. Previous to this Mr. Utterback was engaged in farming but on account of ill health was forced to retire from active life. On December 23, 1924 Mr and Mrs Utterback were privileged to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary with all their children and a host of relatives and friends present. Besides the wife, eight children survive; L.M., L.C., R.C. and E.F., all of Arlington; J.M. and Lloyd of Lincoln; Mrs. Lela Woods of Harstel, Colo., and Doris Hindley of Blair. Interment was made in the Arlington cemetery. OBITUARY 3: Tribune June 14, 1928 Aged Pioneer Dies B.M. Utterback Dies at Home in Arlington Funeral services for B.M. Utterback, who died at his home in Arlington, June 5th, were held last Thursday afternoon from the family home, the Rev. J.E. Aeschbacher, assisted by Rev. Henderson, officiating. The deceased was born at Sumner, Ill., on January 8, 1849 and was married to Sophania Jenkins at Shelbyville, Ill. Two years later they moved to Nebraska where they have made their home. The family had resided in Washington county for about twenty years, most of which time was spent in Arlington. The deceased had been engaged in farming for many years and widely acquainted throughout the county. In 1924 Mr. and Mrs. Utterback were privileged to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary with all of their children and a host of relatives and friends present.
