He married Minnie Vanderbeek February 24, 1909, and they had three sons - Clinton born 23 Nov 1913, died 1 Oct 1996 Wilbur born 7 Dec 1916, died 9 Feb 2002 Leland born 29 Aug 1921 Benjamin and Minnie owned and operated a dairy farm in the Pella Community. They were both lifelong members and active in the Pella Reformed Church. Benjamin died at age 70 and was buried in the Pella Cemetery.
