Description	:	Benjamin S. Garvin, eldest son of Elias R. and Clarinda Diltz Garvin was born in Tipton, Iowa, December 18, 1870 and passed away in a Lincoln hospital in Lincoln, Nebr. on January 21, 1945 at the age of 74 years. He came with his parents to Nebraska in 1893 and they located near Chester where he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Matilda Lasby at Fountain, Colorado in September, 1892. Garvin, eldest son of Elias R. and Clarinda Diltz Garvin was born in Tipton, Iowa, December 18, 1870 and passed away in a Lincoln hospital in Lincoln, Nebr. on January 21, 1945 at the age of 74 years. He came with his parents to Nebraska in 1893 and they located near Chester where he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Matilda Lasby at Fountain, Colorado in September, 1892. They lived in or near Colorado Springs, Colo., until her death in 1905, when he and his family returned to Chester, which has bee (sic) his home until the recent months, he has lived in Lincoln. He leaves to mourn his passing two sons, E.R. Garvin of Lincoln and A.L. Garvin of Powell, Wyoming and two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Boyer of Los Angeles, California and Mrs. Kathryn Edwards of San Benito, Texas. Eleven grand children and three great grandchildren; also three brothers, Will R. and George Garvin of Lincoln, and Ed A Garvin of Los Angeles, Calif. and one sister, Mrs. Grace Lasby of Colton, Calif. Several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were held in Lincoln on January 25 and he was laid to rest beside his wife in the Chester Cemetery. Relatives and friends from out of town who attended the burial services Thursday afternoon were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Garvin, Mr. Will R. Garvin and N.M. Burd, all of Lincoln; Arthur L. Garvin of Powell, Wyoming, Mrs. Ethel Siedel and Mrs. Minnie Blower of North Bend.
