Read More	GOLDEN WEDDING OBSERVED Amid the joyous and loving congratulations and well wishes of 120 of their descendants, relatives, neighbors and friends, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Stump celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their marriage, Sunday, May 16th, 1923, at their beautiful country home about three miles south of Homeworth. It was a celebration which will long be remembered by those who took part in it, and it was a beautiful tribute to a splendid couple from those who had long looked forward to this opportunity of honoring them. The weather was ideal and the bright sunlight playing upon the trees in blossom and green grass added much to the golden anniversary. Benjamin Stump and Miss Elizabeth Ruff were married 50 years ago that day by the Rev. S. B. Stuckey of Paris of the Church of the Brethren of Freeburg. To this union were born six children, five of whom are living: Mrs. William Betz of Bellaire, Ohio; Marion Stump; Mrs. F. L. Reed of Homeworth; Emerson Stump of Alliance and Miss Ada Stump at home. There are 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all being present to celebrate the happy event. A very fine dinner was served to all the guests present and many were the favorable comments upon the large wedding cakes which formed the principal adornments of the finely decorated table. Mr. and Mrs. Stump were recipients of many gold pieces and other valuable gifts. An Alliance photographer was in attendance, who took a picture of the entire crowd; also of the family and of the four generations. Cullison brothers of Homeworth furnished grand music for the occasion. At a late hour the guests departed to their homes hoping that Mr. And Mrs. Stump may live to celebrate the 75th anniversary of their marriage. It was a day long to be remembered.
