Description	:	Requiem high mass was said in Holy Cross of TL June 8 for Ben O'Leary. Fr. Edward O'Leary of Minneapolis, nephew, sang the mass. Fr. T Gorman gave the sermon. Interment was in Holy Cross cemetery. Kesling FH in charge of arrangements. In 1910 he and his brother Frank homesteaded near TL. He helped build the streets of TL and roads in this area. In 1918 he was married to Hazel Raske at TL and this couple moved to a farm near Roscoe. While there, he contracted road building in Faulk, Edmunds, and Brown counties with horse-drawn equipment. In 1927 Mr. O'Leary moved to MT to help build a roadbed for Great Northern RR. In 1930 he returned to Roscoe and lived until 1938 when he moved to TL. During WW II he worked on the West Coast returning to TL in 1944 and settling on a ranch 17 miles SW of TL. He remained there for the rest of his life. He was enroute by bus to the Black Hills when he was stricken June 5 and hospitalized at Fort Meade Veteran's near Sturgis. He passed away shortly upon arrival. Death was diagnosed as pneumonia. He is survived by two sons: Richard of El Paso, TX; Patrick of Eagle Butte; two daughters: Mrs. Clarence Bundrock of Tacoma, WA; Mrs. Delmer Voss of Entiat, WA; three brothers: Jerry and Lawrence of El Paso, TX; Frank of Tacoma, WA; two sisters: Mrs. James O'Leary of TL; Mrs. William Rubendall of Artesian; former wife: Mrs. Wendell Meier of Aberdeen; 14 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by son Edward who died in 1942 while serving in US Navy in the Pacific theater during WW II.
