Shreve. ----- Contributed by Anne Rupert (#21366448): (excerpt from article written 2005 by Claudette Crouch Ward) Benjamin Simpson, who bought Royal Oaks about 1884, was in Co. A. of the 43rd Battalion. He joined Oct. 1, 1863. He was paroled in April 1865 at the age of 20. In 1891, Simpson was elected a member of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors to represent the Centreville District. He held this office until his death in 1898. His widow, Jennie, died in 1900.
