Description	:	Mr. Benjamin Te Grotenhuis, age 91, of Orange City, passed away Sunday, April 15, at his residence. Benjamin was born June 29, 1898, on a farm north of Newkirk, the son of Gerrit J. Te Grotenhuis and Dena Kots Te Grotenhuis. On December 27, 1917, he married Fannie Beltman at Orange City. They farmed in the Newkirk area most of their lives. In 1949, they retired to Orange City. Read More	Mr. Benjamin Te Grotenhuis, age 91, of Orange City, passed away Sunday, April 15, at his residence. Benjamin was born June 29, 1898, on a farm north of Newkirk, the son of Gerrit J. Te Grotenhuis and Dena Kots Te Grotenhuis. On December 27, 1917, he married Fannie Beltman at Orange City. They farmed in the Newkirk area most of their lives. In 1949, they retired to Orange City. She passed away in 1950. On June 22, 1953, he married Mary Vande Brake at Orange City. She passed away in 1977. He was a member of the First Reformed Church of Orange City. Survivors include his three daughters, Mrs. Cornie (Evangeline) Wilkens, of Clara City., Minnesota; Mrs. A.J. (Vivian) Van Zee, of Hospers; and Mrs. John (Audrey) Van Klompenburg, of Montevideo, Minnesota; nine grandchildren. 25 great-grandchildren, and one great-great- grandchild. In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, two brothers, and a sister. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 17, at the First Reformed Church of Orange City, with the Revs. Steven Vander Molen and Garret Docter officiating. Interment followed at the Nassau Township Cemetery near Alton, under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home in Orange City. Siouxland Press - 25 April 1990
