C. on Dec. 31, 1935 a son of the late William D. and Roxie Sessions Bruton. He was a graduate of Conway High School and served in the U. S. Navy for two years. He was a member of North Conway Baptist Church, Chairman of The Building Committee, General Sunday School Secretary, an usher, and worked with the home bound membership. Read More	Conway...Benjamin Thomas Bruton, Sr. "Tom", age 70 of Sherwood Drive, Conway died Friday, August 11, 2006. Mr. Bruton was born in Conway, S. C. on Dec. 31, 1935 a son of the late William D. and Roxie Sessions Bruton. He was a graduate of Conway High School and served in the U. S. Navy for two years. He was a member of North Conway Baptist Church, Chairman of The Building Committee, General Sunday School Secretary, an usher, and worked with the home bound membership. Also, for many years he worked with the children's programs in the church. Prior to his retirement he was associated with Sherwin-Williams Company for 28 years and was a store manager at retirement. He was a former member of the Conway Kiwanis Club, former coach of little league baseball for many years, a former Boy Scout leader, and a lifetime member and supporter of NRA. He will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and a good friend and neighbor to all who knew him. Surviving is his wife of 49 years, Roseanne Moore Bruton, two sons, Tommy Bruton and wife Alice, David Bruton, both of conway, two grandchildren, Matt and Heather Bruton, Conway; three brothers, Willie Bruton, Jr. and wife Judy of Norfolk, Va., Richard Bruton, and wife Dorothy of Chesapeake, VA., Jimmy Bruton, and wife Anne of Newport News, VA, one sister, Patricia Powell and her husband, Arnold, Chesapeake, VA, brother- in- law, Larry Moore and wife Betty of Conway, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday from North Conway Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Gaskins and Rev. Steve Lemons officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 PM Sunday, August 13 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to The Building Fund, North Conway Baptist Church, 1608 Sessions Street, Conway, SC 29526.
