A notation from a Tiffin Newspaper reads "Alvada news", Aug 31, 1898 "Ben Fosty, of Chicago, was the guest a few days last week of friends and relatives in this vicinity" Obituary: From Sunday, August 27, 1928 "ILLNESS FATAL TO HOTEL OWNER HERE SATURDAY"- Benjamin W. Fosty, proprietor at the Ozark Hotel on South Main St. died there Saturday night, death came at 7: 45 P.M. following an illness of one week with a complication of diseases. The deceased was born in Seneca County on January 2, 1850, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Fosty. Mr. Fosty left Fostoria 47 years ago and remained away until February of 1927 when he returned and purchased the Ozark Hotel. His wife precedes having died 36 years ago. Her name before marriage was Eugenia Yonker One brother survives, John B. Fosty of this city. There is one nephew and one niece residing in Los Angeles, California. Mr. Fosty was a member of the Methodist Church; Funeral services will be held at the home of the brother J. B. Fosty on west Fremont street, Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. burial in Fountain cemetery. The body was prepared for burial at the Harrold Funeral home. From The Sandusky Register Saturday, Sept. 15, 1928 - "Brother Gets Estate" Benjamin W. Fosty, who died on Aug 25, leaves his entire estate to his brother John B. Fosty, under his will filed today in Probate Court. This will was made May 21, 1928, and his brother is named executor.
