For the last 10 years he had lived at his present home in Coon Rapids. Mr. Chase was married July 3, 1930, at Guthrie Center to Iris Spencer. Surviving with his wife are nine children, Mrs. Richard (Mildred) Bancroft. Guthrie Center; Mrs. David (Maxine) Wilson, Ogden, Utah; Benjamin Jr., U. S. Air Force in South Carolina; Mrs. LeRoy (Jean) Obermeier, Audubon; Gary, Sandra, Rosalie, Charles and Mary Jane, at home; six children by a former marriage: Mrs. Gene (Sadie) Day, Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Bob (Adabelle) Carmen, Jefferson; Mrs. Keith (Susan) Ellis, Spirit Lake; John W., in California; Mrs. Wilson. (Betty) Kumba, Pierz, Minn., and Mrs. Wayne (Clara) Davis, Glidden. He also leaves four brothers, Wilbur, Lake City; Elijah, David, and Charles, in California; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Madsen, Fort Dodge, and Mrs. Mabel Francis, Kiron; and 25 grandchildren. One sister, one brother, one son and two daughters are deceased.∼When Benjamin Willard Chase was born on October 24, 1890, in Greene County, Iowa, his father, George Portland Chase, was 27 and his mother, Susan Catherine Borders, was 24. He married Emily Ellen Waldo, 19 JAN 1913 in Greene County, Iowa, and they had seven children together. After Emily died (3 DEC 1929) he married Iris Ann Spencer on 3 July 1930. They had 12 children together.
