Description	:	"Bennett R. Kothenbeutel, 71 years, of Fremont, Nebraska died Monday, April 24, 2017 at his home in Fremont. Ben was born January 23, 1946 in Casper, Wyoming to Russell D. and Ethelynd (Quigley) Kothenbeutel. Ben lived in Casper, Wyoming, Iowa City, Iowa and moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1955 and graduated from George Washington High School in 1964. He attended college at Coe College in Cedar Rapids and obtained a degree in music. He was employed by and retired from the Chicago North Western/ Union Pacific Railroad for the Maintenance of Way. Ben was born January 23, 1946 in Casper, Wyoming to Russell D. and Ethelynd (Quigley) Kothenbeutel. Ben lived in Casper, Wyoming, Iowa City, Iowa and moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1955 and graduated from George Washington High School in 1964. He attended college at Coe College in Cedar Rapids and obtained a degree in music. He was employed by and retired from the Chicago North Western/ Union Pacific Railroad for the Maintenance of Way. Ben married Shirley Christensen in 1993. She died January 31, 2013. He was a volunteer for F.E.V.R. (Fremont Elkhorn Valley Railroad), enjoyed church, attended Living Word and Bridgestone Church, and was interested in ministry. He played the piano at area nursing and assisted living homes. He also played the accordion, especially polkas and big band music and Christian music. He is survived by sons, Justin Kothenbeutel and Nathan Kothenbeutel both of Washington, Illinois; brothers, Donald Kothenbeutel of Nashville, Tennessee, Richard and wife, Diana Kothenbeutel of Beaverton, Oregon, Stephen and wife, Erin Kothenbeutel of Long Beach, California and Mark Kothenbeutel of Fremont, Nebraska. Memorial Service will be 8:30 A.M., Friday, April 28, 2017 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont, Nebraska. The Rev. Michael McGregor will officiate. There will be no visitation. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family for a designation yet to be determined." Moser Memorial Chapel, 2170 N. Somers Ave., Fremont, NE 68025.
