Description	:	Bennie Eugene "Whitey" Muntz, 84, of Bonaparte died at 4:48 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2012, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City. Born, Dec. 5, 1927, in Bonaparte, he was the son of Bennie and Mabel Brown Muntz. On March 1, 1951, he married Bernie Ulibarri in LaPuenta, N.M. Mr. Muntz was a graduate of Bonaparte High School. Read More	Bennie Eugene "Whitey" Muntz, 84, of Bonaparte died at 4:48 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2012, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City. Born, Dec. 5, 1927, in Bonaparte, he was the son of Bennie and Mabel Brown Muntz. On March 1, 1951, he married Bernie Ulibarri in LaPuenta, N.M. Mr. Muntz was a graduate of Bonaparte High School. He was an Air Force veteran, serving in Japan during the Korean War. He worked at Lazenby Motor Co., a gas station, was a manager of Farmer's Co-op Grain Elevator, all in Bonaparte, and retired from Blue Bird Bus Co. in Mount Pleasant. He was a member of Sargeant-Osweiler Post No. 563 American Legion in Bonaparte. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Robert Muntz of Bonaparte, Raymond Muntz of Piketon, Ohio, Carl Muntz of Avondale, Ariz., and Kenton Muntz of Argyle; three daughters, Gloria Starnes and Stacy Muntz, both of Keosauqua, and Teresa Graham of Sigourney; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Morris Muntz; one sister, Emma Stecker of Bonaparte; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and five grandchildren. Cremation has been accorded. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua. The memorial service with flag presentation for Mr. Muntz will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with Larry Shipley officiating. A memorial has been established.
