He was predeceased by his wife, Sally Ann Strickland, and a brother, Harry Strickland. He was survived by a son, Steve Strickland and wife Mitzi; one step-son, Kenny Cox; two grandchildren; three brothers, Joe Strickland, Aubrey Strickand and Lester Strickland; two sisters, Reba Huggins and Ruth Blanton.
