Bennie was born Jan. 12, 1924, in Mercer, where he received his education. He was one of seven children born to Fred and Emma Wall. He did farm work on the family homestead until he married Esther Ziegler June 23, 1951. They moved to McClusky in 1954, where he had his own farm. To this union four children were born, Kenneth W., Kathy G. Fred, and Jeff. Esther passed away Nov. 27, 1969. In 1960, he moved to Bismarck where he worked for the city on street maintenance. He owned and operated Dime-a-Time Laundromat from 1963 to 1974. He married Dorothy Sautner in June 1973. Dorothy passed away Nov. 3, 1992. During his marriage to Dorothy he worked at both Kirkwood Motor Inn and Townhouse. He drove bus for Human Services. Bennie also owned and managed apartments until 2003, when he retired. Bennie married Thelma Lucas Oct. 27, 2001. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Eagles Club, Moose and AMVETS. He had a love for farming and had some farm land which he enjoyed. He had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting. His main love in the summer time was attending action sales throughout the state of North Dakota. His second love hunting and a once in a life time moose hunting trip, which he was proud of. Bennie and his friends enjoyed old cars. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling. Bennie loved to dance, play pinochle and spend time with his grandchildren. Bennie is survived by wife, Thelma; three sons Ken (Laura), G. Fred, and Jeff (Emma), all of Bismarck; one daughter, Kathy Novik Marion, Ohio; his sisters, Esther Stelter, Bismarck and Pauline Heinle, Wilton; a step-daughter, Deedra (Dan) Link, Bismarck; a step-son Tim (Rhonda) Lucas, Silverton, Ore.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents; his wives, Esther and Dorothy; his sisters, Olga and Martha; and his brothers, Samuel and Albert. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to First United Methodist Church.
