Fr. James Barnett officiated. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Norfolk. Mr. Adkins was president of the Central Insurance Agency, chairman of the board of directors of Central Finance Corp. and a member of the board of directors of the Osmond State Bank. He was former president of the Battle Creek State Bank. He was born in Miner county, South Dakota, March 9, 1888. In 1914, he was married to Della Walker at Howard, S.D. He moved to Norfolk in 1925 to become president and manager of the Central Finance Corp. Among the survivors are his wife, two sons, R. W. and John J. Adkins, a brother, John B. Adkins, a sister, Mrs. Jerry A. Brown, and five grandchildren, all of Norfolk. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
