Description	:	Bernard A. LaFreniere 90, of Saunderstown, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 7, 2016. He was the husband of Edith A. (Weeden) LaFreniere for sixty-one years. Born in North Kingstown, he was a son of the late William F. and LeoNora (Chase) LaFreniere. He was a US Army Veteran serving in WWII. Bernard was a volunteer before there was a fire department later beginning his career as a firefighter for the North Kingstown Fire Department; he had previously worked at URI for three years. LaFreniere 90, of Saunderstown, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 7, 2016. He was the husband of Edith A. (Weeden) LaFreniere for sixty-one years. Born in North Kingstown, he was a son of the late William F. and LeoNora (Chase) LaFreniere. He was a US Army Veteran serving in WWII. Bernard was a volunteer before there was a fire department later beginning his career as a firefighter for the North Kingstown Fire Department; he had previously worked at URI for three years. He had served as a constable for the North Kingstown Police Department; and also worked as a carpenter for various local companies. He was a member of the North Kingstown Firefighters Association and enjoyed fishing. In addition to his wife, he leaves four daughters, Sarah Bannister and Sandra Graham both of North Kingstown, Sally Morgan and Susan Moyer both of West Warwick; two brothers, Emery LaFreniere of Exeter and Leonard LaFreniere of Peace Dale; a sister, Lorena Whitford of Exeter; and a grandson, Joshua Bannister. He was the brother of the late William LaFreniere, LeoNora Rockwell, Lilla Henschel and Marie Bishop. Visitation will be held Monday, September 12, 2016 from 4-7pm followed by a funeral service at 7pm in the FAGAN-Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the North Kingstown Fire Department Rescue Division will be appreciated. thequinnfuneralhome.com
