Read More	Bernard E. Griebel, of Sargent, Nebraska, departed this life and entered The Eternal Home on October 28, 2009, in Grand Island, Nebraska. Bernard was 79 years of age having been born on June 26, 1930, Milburn, Nebraska to Ervin P. and Bessie B. (Simpson) Griebel. Bernard attended Kent Country School and graduated from Comstock, Nebraska High School with the Class of 1948. He also attended the University of Nebraska, where he played football. While attending college, Bernard met his wife, Charlotte. While serving in the U.S. Navy, Bernard married Charlotte in 1951. While stationed overseas during the Korean Crisis, Bernard was honorably discharged in January 1955. He and his wife then moved back to Comstock to farm with his parents. This was the beginning of Bernard's developing a stewardship of the land. Throughout his lifetime, Bernard remained passionate for all of natures gifts which he loved to share with his children and grandchildren. Bernard's greatest loves were his wife and family. His one true gift that he shared with all was his love for his trees, flowers and vegetables. He always had plenty of time for conversation with everyone. Bernard enjoyed his involvement with Pheasants Forever, VFW, American Legion, Feeders & Breeders, Sargent Hospital Board and the number of years of being on the Sargent, Nebraska City Council and the mayor of Sargent, Nebraska. Survivors his wife, Charlotte Janet Griebel of Sargent,Nebraska; sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Debra of Washington, Nebraska, Gregory and Connie of North Platte, Nebraska and Mark and Lenny of Hot Springs, South Dakota;; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Dean of Litchfield, Nebraska; brothers and a sister-in-law, Donald and Nina of Comstock, Nebraska and Gerald of Colorado; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Christine (Shirley) and Ken Diefendorf of Oregon; Susanne and Ron Schlieger of Lincoln, Nebraska and Cynthia Griebel of Spain and a host of friends and relatives. Bernard was welcomed into The Heavenly Home by his parents, Ervin and Bessie Griebel.
