Vanhorn embraced religion in the winter of 1831, and united with the Seventh-day Baptist Church of Northampton, Ohio, to which place he moved from Harrison Co., W. Va., in the summer of 1829. In 1851, he moved to Illinois, and united with the Seventh-day Baptist Church of Farmington, and from there removed to Welton, and connected himself with the Sabbath-keeping church of this... Vanhorn embraced religion in the winter of 1831, and united with the Seventh-day Baptist Church of Northampton, Ohio, to which place he moved from Harrison Co., W. Va., in the summer of 1829. In 1851, he moved to Illinois, and united with the Seventh-day Baptist Church of Farmington, and from there removed to Welton, and connected himself with the Sabbath-keeping church of this place, where he remained a brother beloved, until the time of his departure, for which he was in waiting in readiness to be gathered to his fathers. He married Elizabeth Davis November 29, 1822 in Harrison County, VA. Elizabeth, a daughter of Jacob Jr. and Prudence (Maxson) Davis, was born in Harrison County October 5, 1804, and died December 22, 1872, Clinton County, IA. Jun 3 1848 Source: DESCENDANTS OF ABRAM VAN HORN ================================ A note on family relationships: Information from William Van Horn's will: His will lists his wife as Sarah and his children as Thomas, Abraham, Moses Hoffman, William, Bernett, Elizabeth, Mary Dianna, Anna and Rebecca. William's father's will was dated 25 Aug 1807. That will lists his wife as Sarah and his children as Job, William, Elizabeth, Mary, Bernard, Abigail and Anna. The wording of the will clarifies that William and Bernard were two separate people, and were brothers. William Vanhorn married Sarah Chidester 3 Dec 1787. They had 12 children that are supposed to have been born in Harrison County, Virginia. (William's father 1st purchased land in Harrison County in 1789). No birth records were found but marriage records were found for all of the children (Harrison County, WV), death records noted with asterisk . The birth dates come from the Don Norman files.
