Born September 10, 1930, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Isaac Andrew Hinson and Alma Hunter Hinson. A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Hinson received the National Defense Service Award and Occupation Medal (Germany). He was retired from Startex Mills after 40 years of service, was a member of United Baptist Church, formerly Hayne Baptist, an avid woodworker, and served on the Metro Fire Department for 45 years. He was predeceased by sisters, Elizabeth Lawson, Margie Taylor, and Earlene Couch; and a brother, William Hinson. Visitation was 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, September 21, 2012, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 22, 2012, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel, by the Rev. Robert Emory and the Rev. Jack D. Weaver. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park.
