He was buried with military honors with the combined services of Albany VFW post #9398 and K T Crossen post #21, and the American Legion.. a∼Bernard Lee Allen, 87, Albany, passed away peacefully at home on Monday November 5, 2018. Born June 18, 1931, in Athens, he was the son of the late Emory and Frances Everhart Allen. He was a lifelong farmer, and served as a Marine in the Korean War. He was a member of the Grand Lodge F & AM of Ohio, the Albany Masonic Lodge #723. the Albany Eastern Star Chapter #558, and the ASCS Committee. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Loretta Stout Allen, children Bonnie (Paul) Smith, Judy Ellis, Boyd (Mary) Allen, Bruce (Margaret) Allen, and Jill (Matt) Harris; grandsons Jeffrey (Randi) Brooks, Justin (Cassie) Brooks, Chace and Drew Harris; great-grandchildren Tyler, Maddie, Cooper, Ella, Jackson and Whitlee Brooks; and several nieces and nephews. Special family Wendy Calaway family, Rachel Nelson Jeffers family, John Nelson family, Jamie Minor, Brian Sanford family, and Alyse Smith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son Bernard James, brothers Emory and James, sisters and brothers in law Mary Ellen Jagers, Catherine Wogan, Jack and Harold Bolen. Services will be Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home. Burial will be in Alexander Cemetery, with military graveside services by Albany VFW Post 9398 and KT Crossen Post 21 American Legion. Visitation will be Friday 4-7 P.M. at the funeral home, with Masonic Services at 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Bernard's name may be made to the Alexander FFA Scholarship, Alexander Future Foundation, P.O. Box 204, Albany, Ohio 45710
