Born in Saint John, NB on May 30, 1951, he was a son of the late Watson (Sonny) and Helen (McLeese) McVicar. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Bernard is survived by his wife, Lucy; two sons, Terrance of Pennfield and Derek of Saint John; two daughters, Kerri of Toronto and Amanda (Moe) of Saint John; one stepson, Billy of Big Cove and one step daughter, Dawn of Big Cove; ten grandchildren; two sisters Madge (Fiance Normand Levesque) of Bonny River; Margo (Stephen) Barrett of Mascarene; four brothers, Byron (Virginia) of Back Bay; Drew (Jeanie) of Calgary; Rian of Sussex and Gerald Cook of Sussex; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Hazel McVicar of Back Bay; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by one grandson, Darian. Bernard had worked as a meat cutter at Dewares Supermarket in Rexton for several years. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and trapping. He enjoyed hockey and was a Detroit Red Wings fan. He was an auxiliary member of R.C.L. Br. No. 30 Richibucto and a member of Sea View Full Gospel Church. Resting at Sea View Full Gospel Church in Back Bay from where the service will be held on Saturday at 2 PM. Interment in the St. George Rural Cemetery. Visiting at the church on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Memorial donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or to any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
