Description	:	CENTRAL CITY - Bernardine F. "Nana" Bolling Hedges, 79, of Central City died peacefully Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at Bryan Medical Center East in Lincoln. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Central City, with the Rev. Joe Hannappel, her nephew, officiating. Burial will be in the Central City Cemetery. Mrs. Hedges was born on Dec. 25, 1932, in South Sioux City to Bernard and Ruth (Irwin) Hack. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Philip Bolling, and a daughter, Anita Bolling. Survivors of the immediate family include her husband, Dale Hedges; five sons and daughters-in–law, Russ and Iva Bolling of Grand Island, Tim and Sandy Bolling of Central City, Andy and Denise Bolling of Ravenna, Matt and Marcia Bolling of Central City and Mark and Kim Bolling of Hackettstown, N.J.; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Laura and Terry Dallegge of Central City, Charlotte Bolling of St. Paul, Chris Gramberg of Grand Island, Hanna and Tom Hawthorne of Central City and Trish and Morgan Woode of Grand Island; 22 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one on the way; four stepdaughters, Melanie Riblett of Omaha, Marcy (Randy) Fousek of Kearney, Kay (Doug) Grosshans of Plattsmouth and Kelly (Kirk) Melson of Kearney; five brothers and three sisters-in-law, Ray and Louise Hack of Aurora, Cecil Hack of Omaha, Goldie and Sherry Hack of Arizona, Jack and Toia Hack of Washington and Doug Hack of Omaha; and four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Trulla and Jerry Mellinger of Washington, Sadie and Jerry Easton of Aurora, Colo., Jeanne Hack of Carroll, Iowa, and Helen and Joe Leonard of Carroll, Iowa. Other survivors left to cherish her memory include several nieces and nephews. Bernardine grew up in the St. Paul area and attended school in St. Paul, Chapman, Clarks, and then Central City. She worked at Cold Storage and Douthit Cafe in Central City. She was united in marriage to Philip E. Bolling on Sept. 23, 1950, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Central City. The couple lived in Central City and were blessed with 11 children. Bernardine also ran Bernadette's Health Spa off and on for about 10 years. Philip died on Dec. 17, 1975. After his death, she worked at the school as a teacher's aide. Bernardine was united in marriage to G. Dale Hedges on April 11, 1980, in Central City. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, serving as president of the Altar Society and president of the District Archdiocese Deanery. Bernardine was involved in all aspects of Alcoholics Anonymous. She was very devoted to helping others. She enjoyed sewing and crafts and could "make something from nothing." The couple also enjoyed attending wrestling meets. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Arden Hack, Bob Hack, and Johnny Hack; a sister, Fern Meyer; one great-grandson, Ambrose Bolling; and a very special friend, Dorothy Armatys.
