Description	:	Foster parent of Clara Mae Twomey Smith -- Bernice A. Hood, 91, of Nashville, Tennessee, died Jan. 15 in Nashville. She was born Jan. 26, 1902 in Birmingham, Alabama. In 1924, she married Lawrence Hood, who preceded her in death in 1939. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Mattie and WH Armbruster; brother, James Armbruster; and her friend and step-mother, Olie Boatright. In 1924, she married Lawrence Hood, who preceded her in death in 1939. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Mattie and WH Armbruster; brother, James Armbruster; and her friend and step-mother, Olie Boatright. Before retiring and moving to Nashville, Mrs. Hood was a long-time resident of Flat River, Missouri, where she had worked for Union Electric for 24 years. She also played organ for Trinity Lutheran Church in Flat River for 50 years. She is survived by one daughter, Clara T. (Edice) Smith of Nashville; one brother, John Henry Armbruster (Verona) of St. Louis; four grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nashville, where Mrs. Hood was a member. There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lutheran Cemetery in Farmington, Missouri, with Rev. David Johnson officiating. Local arrangements under the direction of the C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Memorials may be made to the Memorial Lutheran Church in Nashville.
