The Rev. Earle Miller will officiate with burial in the Pilger Cemetery. The daughter of Edward and Mathilda (Bratz) Miller was born July 21, 1926, in Pierce County. She was baptized and confirmed at Stark Valley United Methodist Church. She attended rural school in Pierce County. She married Vernon Christiansen on Sept. 14, 1948, at Crawford Valley United Methodist Church near Plainview, Nebraska. The couple lived in the Foster and Plainview area before moving to Pilger in 1958. She was employed by Jay's Bar, which later became Ed's Bar in Pilger She was also employed by Preuss Grocery in Wisner, Nebraska and was the first manager of the Pilger Senior Center. Mrs. Christiansen was a member of the Pilger Methodist Church and its ladies aid. She was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 3602 of Stanton and American Legion Auxiliary Post 69 of Pilger. Survivors include one daughter, Elaine Reese of Pilger, one brother, Alvin Miller of Osmond, Nebraska and two grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1980.
