Read More	Rapid City Journal (Rapid City, South Dakota) 9 June 2004 Bernice Connelly RAPID CITY - Bernice Connelly, 83, of Rapid City, died Sunday, June 6, 2004, at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Bernice was born March 24, 1921, at Winner, SD, one of two sisters to Andrew and Martha Delany Welch. Bernice was a woman who loved her family and friends. She was known by her quick wit, insightful observations, and personalized letters and cards to family members on holidays and special occasions. Also, Bernice was a woman born of the land: she grew up as young women on a farm south of Winner; she married Vincent Connelly in 1942; and they worked the family farm at Winner, SD, from 1942 to 1971. Vincent died in 1977, and Bernice moved to Rapid City shortly after his death in 1981. She read widely and regularly until the week she died; actively participated in many family activities until the last three weeks of her life; and shared with her increasingly-large family in their many and varied activities. Often she did this from the perch of her large, overstuffed easy chair. Now, in death she returns to the land of her youth; the circle of life is complete. She is survived by her son, Lee Connelly, and his wife Lois, of Rapid City; daughter Judy Boysen, and her husband Al, of Rapid City; daughter Jessica Reutter of Black Hawk; six grandchildren: Lissa Brown, Bryon Forkner, Vincent Connelly, Christina Burgess, Michelle Forkner, Monica Hudak; and seven great-grandchildren: Eric, Jamie, Jadzia, Mysha, Makayla, Dawson, Hunter.
