She was born November 18, 1920, in Eden Township, Licking County, Ohio to the late Ora and Nellie (Devoll) Holton. Bunny was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother with a strong belief in family and giving. Read More	Bernice West, 100, of Newark in the presence of her children, peacefully passed away at her home Friday September 3. She was born November 18, 1920, in Eden Township, Licking County, Ohio to the late Ora and Nellie (Devoll) Holton. Bunny was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother with a strong belief in family and giving. She loved to play euchre, golf, and putt putt golf as well as a sports fan, especially for her children. In her working life she was secretary to the president of Holophane for several years and then went to Rockwell, retiring from Boeing with an associate degree in business administration from Franklin University. A devout Christian, long time member of Central Christian Church, member of Columbus Women's Club, and supporter of The Salvation Army. She enjoyed having been able to travel to many parts of the world. Bunny is survived by her children, Danny J. (Donna) West of Newark, Barry (Qiaozhen Gong) West of McCleansville, North Carolina, and Nancy (West) Wooles of Rock Hill, South Carolina; grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth West, Ashley West, B.J. (Misa) West, Michael and Michelle West, Lindsay Wooles (fiancé Josh Gainey), and Scott (Amy) Carlisle; great-grandchildren, Japhy Walsh, Lilianna and Aubrey Carlisle; sisters, Betty Barrett of Fremont, Michigan, Patricia Smith of St. Louisville, Sandra Bagent of St. Louisville, and brother, Richard Holton of St. Louisville, and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. West; infant son, Christopher; sisters, Bonnie Catherine Humphries, Norma Jean Londot, and brother, Ora Robert Holton. Visitation will be Wednesday September 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark. The funeral service will be Thursday September 9 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Cory Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to The Salvation Army of Newark.
