She graduated from Sigourney High School in 1927. She married Ernest Leroy Martin April 15, 1939 at Ottumwa, Iowa; he died November 15, 1970. She worked for People's Telephone and Manor House and she and her husband farmed west of Hayesville. She moved to Sigourney in 1994. She is survived by two sons, Gary and his wife Janet, and Larry "Butch" and his wife Crystal; a daughter Karen Foubert and her husband Melvin; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; four brothers, Charles Elliott, James Elliott, David Elliott and Marion Elliott of Deep River; and four sisters, Martha Green, Dorothy Dewberry, Lucile Rogers and Margery Van Patten. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ernest.
