At age 14 she moved with her parents to Spokane, Washington where she graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1925. She received a degree in home economics from Washington State College in 1929 and then taught school in Kahlotus, Selah and Sequim, Washington. In 1943-44 she served in Internship in Dietetics at the University Hospital and Medical School in Okalahoma City, Oklahoma, following which she worked as a dietician in Bremerton, Washington. She was employed in 1947 as Supervisor of Lunch Rooms for the Olympia Public Schools and organized the Federal School Lunch Program for them. She planned one of the first central kitchen operations for schools in the state. During her 20 years of services as supervisor the school system expanded in number of schools and an average of 2500 complete lunches per day were served as well as mild and other items that were sold individually. She retired in 1967. Mrs. Jordan was a past member of the American Dietetic Association, past president of the Washington School Food Service Association and past president of Olympia Altursa Club. She was a member of the American Rhododendron Society, the Rhododendron Species Foundation, The Olympia Garden Club, and Alpha Gamma Delta International fraternity. She lived in Tumwater, Washington the past 17 years since her marriage to Lloyd F. Jordan who survives her at their home. She is also survived by a brother Walter F. Cornehl of Bridgeport, Washington, and a sister, Mrs. Thomas Hyslop of Spokane, nieces Barbara Cornehl, Spokane and Mrs. Malcom Carter, Jr., of Lafayette, California; nephews, Tom, Robert and William Hyslop of Spokane; John Cornehl, Bridgeport and Howard Cornehl of Issaquah, Washington. A memorial service was held in Olympia following her death on February 9, 1983. Her ashes were interred in the Bridgeport Cemetery on May 29 at 2:00 pm.
