Bernice Nehls was born Jan. 8, 1920, to Fred and Dora (Hoops) Nehls in Groton. She attended country school near Groton. She married Andrew Larson Jr. on July 21, 1940. They farmed in Andover. He died Sept. 16, 1971. She married Eugene Prunty on Sept. 21, 1982, in Andover. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Andover. She enjoyed being a homemaker and was active with yard work, gardening, ceramics and cooking. Survivors include her husband of Andover; one daughter, Ruth (George) Kimball of Anchorage, Alaska; two brothers, Carroll Nehls of Groton and Maurice Nehls of Langford; two sisters, Mary Ann Fliehs of Cogswell, N.D. and Grace Blando of Aberdeen; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, one son and two brothers. Casketbearers will be Jeff Larson, Troy Larson, Dennis Fliehs, Daniel Grode, Kent Grode and Greg Prunty.
