Description	:	Bernice Marcella (Paul) Junker, daughter of Earl and Kate (Peterson) Paul, was born July 3, 1929 on the family farm near Ramona, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at the United Brethren Church in Ramona and graduated from Ramona High School. Bernice was united in marriage to Gerald Herbert Junker at the United Brethren Church in Ramona on January 1, 1949. In 1961 they left the Junker family farm located near Oldham, South Dakota and moved to rural Watertown where she was employed at Conklins One Stop and Montgomery Wards. Read More	Bernice Marcella (Paul) Junker, daughter of Earl and Kate (Peterson) Paul, was born July 3, 1929 on the family farm near Ramona, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at the United Brethren Church in Ramona and graduated from Ramona High School. Bernice was united in marriage to Gerald Herbert Junker at the United Brethren Church in Ramona on January 1, 1949. In 1961 they left the Junker family farm located near Oldham, South Dakota and moved to rural Watertown where she was employed at Conklins One Stop and Montgomery Wards. In 1964 they moved to Castlewood and in 1965 she opened the B&J Caf where she will always be remembered for her delicious homemade rolls. Many people will also remember the beautiful wedding and birthday cake creations she made. Bernice was also co-owner of Junker Trucking from which she retired in 1995. Gerald died on January 30, 2008 in Castlewood. Bernice continued to live in Castlewood and died on Monday, June 22, 2009 at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown at the age of 79 years, 11 months and 19 days. She would have celebrated her 80th birthday on July 3rd. She was a member of the American Lutheran Church and served as past president of the ALC womens group. She was also a member of the Castlewood Historical Society. Bernice loved sharing time with her family and her Pug Buddy. In her retirement years she always enjoyed having beautiful flowers and tending her vegetable garden. Grateful for having shared her life are son, 2 daughters, grandsons, three step-grandchildren, one step-great-grandson, a sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband Gerald, her parents, two brothers Clarence and Ray and two sisters Irene and Dorothy.
