Description	:	KING, NC ~ Bernice Nadine Wood Flinchum, 62, passed away Friday night, July 31, 2015, after a long fight with cancer. She was born July 8, 1953, in Stokes County to Lewis H. and Maxine Oakley Wood. Nadine retired from the Stokes County School System where she worked as the librarian’s assistant at North Stokes High School. She then worked as the fleet administrator at Grid One for fifteen years. No one loved their children and grandchildren more than she loved hers. A 7:00 p.m. funeral service will be held Monday, August... Read More	KING, NC ~ Bernice Nadine Wood Flinchum, 62, passed away Friday night, July 31, 2015, after a long fight with cancer. She was born July 8, 1953, in Stokes County to Lewis H. and Maxine Oakley Wood. Nadine retired from the Stokes County School System where she worked as the librarian’s assistant at North Stokes High School. She then worked as the fleet administrator at Grid One for fifteen years. No one loved their children and grandchildren more than she loved hers. A 7:00 p.m. funeral service will be held Monday, August 3, 2015 at Burroughs Chapel with Elder Milton Gunter officiating. A private burial will follow at a later date. Nadine was preceded in death by her husband, Neil Ray Flinchum. In addition to her parents, she is survived by two children: Patrick Flinchum & wife Cindy of Rural Hall, and Kayla Morgan of King; one sister: Annette Wood of Rural Hall; and two brothers: Keith Wood & wife Tuwanna, and Nathan Wood, both of Danbury; four grandchildren: Benjamin Flinchum, Elania Morgan, Hannah Flinchum, and Samantha Flinchum; and two special nieces: Crystal Holder and Tonya Lineberry. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 3, 2015 at Burroughs Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Derrick L. Davis Cancer Center, 3333 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Please specify that the memorial be used for gynecological research.
