Berniece worked at Clinton County Schools as a clerk for 22 years and as a Deputy with the Clinton County Recorders Office for 14 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. Berniece L. (Tholen) Guidebeck, age 82, passed away on Thursday April 29, 2010 in Clinton; Clinton County, Iowa. Those left to mourn her passing are: Her daughter, Susan Kay Cook of Port Richey, Florida; two sons, Gary E. (Diana) Guidebeck of Decatur, Illinois and James R. Guidebeck of Weeki Wachee, Florida; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Berniece was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and three sisters. May they rest in peace. Visitation will be from: 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday; May 3, 2010 at the Pape Funeral Home in Clinton, Iowa. Following the visitation, cremation rites will be accorded and a Graveside service will begin at: 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday; May 5, 2010 at the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. The Pape Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
