Surviving are his wife, Letha, one daughter, Mrs. Tony Walser of Palouse; two sons, Orville, of Moscow, and Floyd of Sunnyside; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren; three brothers, Roland Crooks, Concrete; Lyman Crooks and Lynn Crooks, both of Erie; two sisters, Eugena Jaquay and Cora Gallagher, both of Steamburg, New York. Funeral arrangements have not been announced as yet. THE PALOUSE REPUBLIC 12 NOV 1947 LAST RITES HELD FOR BERT CROOKS Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 pm from the Church of the Nazarene, for Bert Crooks, 83, who passed away the previous Thursday following a heart attack. The Rev. Arthur J. Stott officiated at the service. Mr. Crooks was born in New York in 1864 and had been a continuous resident of this area since 1890, and is survived by his wife, a daughter, two sons, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters. Music was furnished at the services Saturday by Mrs. Esther Anderson, accompanied by Mrs. Wesley Tempereo, who sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere". Pallbearers, all grandsons, were Orrin Crooks, Raymond Crooks, Orland Crooks, Bert Crooks, Floyd Crooks and Boyd Walser. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Palouse.
