Read More	Relatives and friends were saddened Saturday morning to learn of the sudden untimely death of another lifelong resident of the Lennox Community. Resust of an apparent heart attack, Bert E. Oltmanns passed away at Wall Lake shortly before seven o'clock Saturday morning, Aug. 7, 1976. Mr. Oltmanns, in company with Wayne Wierenga, had gone to Wall Lake early that morning to do some fishing. Bert was having some trouble with the motor of his boat and decided to try it out while Wayne stayed ashore. The boat was out about 100 yards on the lake when Wayne noticed the boat going in circles and Bert was in the water (about 8-10 feet deep), apparently having fallen out of the boat. Wayne lost no time in getting a row boat nearby, rowing out and getting his friend to shore. Mr. Oltmanns walked about 50 feet when he suffered an apparent heart attack and succumbed. He attained the age of 54 years, nine months and 18 days. Bert E. Oltmanns was born on a farm four miles northeast of Lennox on Oct. 19, 1921, son of Etteus and Kate (Buse) Oltmanns. He attended rural school and grew to manhood there and assisted his parents with farm operations. On Aug. 31, 1944 he was united in marriage ot Helen Donahue at Parker, SD. For 18 years they farmed northeast of Lennox, until 1962 whenthe family took up their residence in Lennox and continued to make their home here. Mr. Oltmanns was an ardent sportsman and did much fishing during the summer season. For a number of years he had been employed at the local Cargill plant as a pellet mill operator. His father preceded him in death on December 29, 1945 and his mother passed away Nov. 3, 1965. Deceased is survived by his widow; seven sons, Roger of Sioux Falls, Michael in the service and stationed in California, Patrick, Robert, Christopher, Jeffrey and Daniel, all at home; seven daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Edith) Stegner of Marshall, MN, Carol Oltmanns of Sioux Falls, Mrs. Jackie (Lorraine) Nordman, Mrs. Peter (Sharon) Albers and Mrs. Lynn (Elaine) Javers, Lennox, Cathleen and Rita, both at home; nine grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Elmer (Dena) Meyer of Sioux Falls.
