Richard Kienitz, pastor of the Evangelical Church of North America, officiated and burial was in Moutain View Cemetery. Mr. Versand died March 22 in Canby, Ore., after a short illness. Richard Kienitz, pastor of the Evangelical Church of North America, officiated and burial was in Moutain View Cemetery. Mr. Versand died March 22 in Canby, Ore., after a short illness. He had gone there to be near his daughter. He was born Oct. 22, 1892, in Bjerkrem, Norway, a son of Svend and Inger Versland. He came to Big Timber in 1914 and worked on the Ole Birkeland and Ole Esp sheep ranches on Deer Creek and on several other ranches in that area. He returned to his home in Norway in 1921 and came back to Montana in the spring of 1923. He was married to Ethel Cubbison, Sept. 24, 1923, in Billings. They homesteaded on Deer Creek and then ranched on Dry Creek before moving to Big Timber in 1940 Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ben (Inga) Rodden, Canby, Ore.; two stepsons, Elzie Cubbison, Grey Cliff, and Leo Cubbison, Woodland, Wash, three step-daughters, Mrs. Mildred Grande, Grey Cliff, Mrs. Carl (Opal) Larson, Bozeman, and Mrs. Selmer (Ruby) Raisland Springdale. Two sisters, Mrs. Berha Sjeveland and Mrs. Marie Hetland both of Egersund, Norway; 28 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren, a niece Mrs. Ole (Bertha) Gaasland, Big Timber; a nephew, Alfred Hetland, Great Falls, and many nieces and nephews around Egersund, Norway. He was preceded in death by his wife, who died Oct. 27, 1965. Casket bearers included Charles Sloan, Lonnie Bryan, Erling Satre, Bud Clayton, Helmar Brannae, and Phillip Elgen. Organist was Mrs. A.
